Greetings to all Members.
I hope you and your families are well and have come through the past few months relatively unscathed.
The Squash Club has been far from dormant during lockdown. Keith and Sonya have continued the essential administration with their usual efficiency and you will be returning to a club that has seen virtually complete internal redecoration (a massive job), refurbished gents’ showers with a long overdue new ventilation system and, latterly, a complete professional deep clean.
You will also see a small new garden area adjacent to the entrance which will be in memory of my much-loved predecessor, Bev Richardson, for whom many of you will have fond memories. His passing would have filled St Wulfram’s Church in normal times and our condolences go to Angie and the rest of his family.
Many thanks to the small band of volunteers who have carried out all this work and to David Goodridge in particular who has made it happen.
I would also like to express my personal appreciation for the work carried out by our Chairman, John Baldwin who has overseen perhaps the most difficult period in our Club’s 60 year history in a thoroughly professional manner.
I am sure you are now raring to get on court and into the gym once again. Two requests… please be as generous as you feel able with John’s various subscription proposals and also bear with staff as we all feel our way back to normality.
We look forward to seeing you again; you will be welcomed with open arms.
