Dear All

Thank you to all our members for your continued loyalty, support and patience.

While the Government continue to gradually lift Covid19 restrictions in certain areas, it continues to be a frustrating time for all of our members who are keen to return to the club. Current Government guidelines are clear, that indoor sport and leisure clubs are to remain closed - unfortunately, this includes ALL of our facilities.
IF the published government roadmap stays on track, the earliest reopening date would be 4th July 20 - this is subject to confirmation.

While we are all passionate about getting back on court and working out in the gym again, we must all recognise that the return to normal will take time and must be approached with both caution and care. In the meantime, we must all continue to follow Government guidance.

However, while we continue to remain optimistic, we must be realistic and realise that there will be both changes and restrictions put in place, so in preparation for reopening we have been trying to establish best practices and what sensible measures we can ALL take to ensure that our club can safely open and that risks to members and staff are minimised.

To accomplish this we must
determine what changes are required - from social distancing whether 2 metres or 1 metre (if needed at all), availability of PPE for staff, sufficient cleaning and hygiene products, more frequent cleaning schedule of equipment etc., (by BOTH members & staff),
impact if access to changing facilities, showers etc., not allowed. Recording / tracking of members, if necessary, through our ‘key fob‘ access system?
(N.B. Any key fobs that were not working or lost should be reported to:- sonya@granthamsquash.co.uk)

Contingency plans are also in place to relocate gym equipment to other areas of the club, where necessary, to accommodate our gym members in peak periods.

From a squash perspective, we continue to monitor and follow directives and advice from both England and Lincolnshire Squash. Our ‘Clubnet’ booking system has already been upgraded to allow staggered court times with built in ‘buffer zones’ if required.

Whatever / whenever we reopen our facilities, I can reassure you that you will be invited back to better and brighter facilities - more details to follow.

Once again, a big thank you to our loyal members, especially the vast majority who have continued with their standing orders throughout this difficult period, we will be contacting you shortly with details of our planned repayment of these subscriptions.

Please note that we continue to welcome feedback and constructive suggestions from ALL our members, to make your club a better place, submissions to:-

As soon as the Government lift the lockdown and we are allowed to reopen our facilities, and it is viable to do so, I will advise you accordingly.

Until then, be patient, take care and stay safe.

Thank you,

John Baldwin
Chairman on behalf of your committee
